8th International Research Groups Meeting

Membranes are permeable intersections, that at the same time unite and separate things, bodies or environments. The membrane concept updates the idea of interface, at a moment of network culture in which the overlap between geographies, architectures and virtualities, as well as the synergy between bodies and machines result in spongy affections, behaviors and topologies. Membranes, in this context, are devices whose porosity delineates malleable confluences, without rigid boundaries. More specifically, the 8th Meeting of Research Groups in Art and Technology will discuss: (a) the contingencies, intersections and accesses of processes related to mixed realities; (b) the applications of artificial intelligence that promote situations in which human and machine become increasingly imbricated; (c) devices and processes of transmutation between signals of different natures.
